One Last Inspection To Go!
about 6 years ago – Mon, Apr 23, 2018 at 06:06:25 PM

It’s hard to believe that it’s been one year (Today!) since our Kickstarter was fully funded. So much has happened and it’s been an incredible, and loonnng journey.

We’ve begun the move-out process at our old location and if all goes well this week, we should get the last inspection approved so that we can finish moving and think about opening doors at 113 5th St.

We can’t thank you all enough for your patience, kind words and positivity thru the last few months. It’s really kept our spirits up.

So what’s next for our Kickstarter Backers?

Pending the finalization of our move, we can set forth on a realistic timeline for order fulfillment. We’ve already started to get some of the packaging delivered.

ARTIST/ART PIECE REWARDS UPDATE Backers that have rewards that do not include any of the original backer blend coffee and art, should expect their rewards to be shipped before the end of May. This is anyone that purchased a Jason Limberg or Jermey Rowe pieces. We have some gorgeous mugs from our pals at Open Wings, among a few others.

BACKERBLEND UPDATE Backers that purchased any of the Backer Blend Coffee or art, including the t-shirts, mug etc will have to wait for us to finalize the last of the designs. Once we are in one location and not bouncing around between two and living among boxes, we can get settled and work on those finishing touches.

BACKER PARTY UPDATE We’ve discussed a good time for the backer party and we’ve decided we will make a weekend long celebration in July. This will include celebrating our 5 year anniversary, the official Grand Opening of 113 5th St and our Kickstarter Backer Party. Stay tuned for dates on all those celebrations.

BACKER WALL UPDATE We’ve selected the official location of the backer wall and will be working on getting a wall wrap created listing all of our backers. This will take a few weeks to create, but we suspect this is be installed before the end of May.

PRE-ORDERS AND SHIPPING ADDRESS UPDATES Once the t-shirt and mug designs are finalized we will launch our BackerKit Pre-Orders and Shipping Address updates. This should happen by end of May or early June. We will be sending around some updates regarding the -T-shirt and mug designs once those are finalized.

I think that about does it for now. If you are a local backer, make sure you swing by 326 5th St this week or say goodbye to our old location. And - if you haven’t already - be sure to sign up for our email list on our website for your chance to win 1 of 5 bags of our last batch of coffee roasted at our old location. And remember - if you backed the campaign but haven’t signed up for our email newsletter at www.keweenawcoffeeworks.com directly, then you’re not on our list. You must sign up thru our website to be included.

Winners of the last batch give-a-way will be announced after May 1.

Thanks all! Enjoy that sunshine!

Another Step Closer to Opening
about 6 years ago – Fri, Mar 09, 2018 at 05:07:58 PM

Hi All!

We are getting sooooo super close to being able to run through our inspections.

The social lounge is looking so so spiffy.

We have some finishing touches to the coffee bar area, including lighting, popping on the facade, installing the countertops (which should be delivered next week) and finishing up the shelving and plumbing.  Roaster Nate is really pleased with the way the lighting fixture frame he built turned out.  (the video below does have sound)

The kitchen is very close to being completed as well.  We do need to mitigate one of the last plumbing issues in the basement however!  We expect that to be completed by the end of next week though, and are looking forward to having that messy project behind us.

The roasterie area is pretty much complete, just need to finalize one of the fussier bits that we've been putting off for some time.

All else is just finalizing the clean-up, putting felt pads on the bottoms of chairs and moving some of the furniture and equipment from our old location....nitty gritty stuff.

Our next update here will be regarding the location of the backer wall and hopefully will include an official move in date!!!

*Special thanks to our pal Nate P for helping us make sure the lighting fixture hang was safe and secure.  Also special thanks to Adam, Marcus, Jake and Jason who's muscle we borrowed to get that thing into place :)

Happy Friday!
