Happy New Year Kickstarter Backers!
Now that the holidays are over and we’ve had a tiny moment to catch our breath, the KCW renovation team is back at it.
Unfortunately we’ve hit a pretty major snag - as happens with some of these buildings that were unoccupied for several years - as we have to do a fairly major repair to the drain in the basement. Even though this is a setback, we are remaining positive and upbeat as the rest of the renovation is really taking shape and this building is getting the love and attention it deserves.
Countertops are getting installed.
The Epoxy is poured on the tables.
The floors are in (and gorgeous)
And we are working out the final floor plan for the social lounge.
We hope by the end of next week, we will have the drain issue fully assessed and if not fixed, at least a solid plan of what needs to happen. Stay tuned on next steps!

Things are really starting to take shape at 113 5th St. The floor is almost installed. The Coffee bar is really taking shape. Pillar bar tops are nearing completion. Roaster is installed.
Despite the busy holiday season, we are slowly but surely checking things off the list.
The backer wall will be installed early January 2018. We should be wrapping things up for final inspections by end of January. While it’s not ideal to move during the winter months, we are hopeful that a February occupancy will take place.
Thanks for hanging tight. We hope you are as excited as we are at the progress. This space is going to be an amazing addition to the Calumet community and we can’t wait to share it with you and get you those rewards. ❤️
